Thanks for sharing your convo with Katherine. I just shared her Substack on play and the importance of the analog life with my psych 12 students during our developmental psych unit. You may also really appreciate Dr. Becky Kennedy’s work. Here’s a handout she made for parents with Jon Haidt. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1GEsaPsWloFSLTiUr4k5-0qccRlXh1ZHk/view?usp=drivesdk. Another really important listen is Dr Gabor Mate. Start with this amazing talk on his latest book “The Myth of normal”
I enjoyed our conversation very much. Thanks for the opportunity to dig into my favourite topic!
*my new favorite topic :) I can't stop talking about your work. Super appreciate you chatting with me!
This is such a great perspective. I wrote about this recently and it's a real struggle for parents and a real concern for children

Struggle is real as the kids say! Great piece, thank you for sharing!

Thanks for chiming in to share these resources! Your students are clearly lucky to have you! I'll definite give these a read and listen.
I love the example of listening to albums rather than individual songs! I hadn't thought about the instant gratification piece of that!
Same! I l also encourage my kids to let shuffle do the work so we can all be off devices.
